Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or loaf pan to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Cream the Butter, Cream Cheese, and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together on medium speed using a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes). Gradually add the sugar, continuing to beat until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.

Step 3: Add the Eggs and Flavoring

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing. Stir in the vanilla extract and almond extract for an enhanced flavor.

Step 4: Incorporate the Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to a dense and tough cake.

Step 5: Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 75–85 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool the Cake

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes. Then, carefully invert it onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely before glazing.
