Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pork Ribs
- Rinse the pork ribs under cold water to remove any impurities.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, then blanch the ribs for 3-4 minutes. This removes excess fat and impurities for a clearer broth.
- Drain and rinse the ribs under running water. Set aside.
Step 2: Begin the Soup Base
- In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the blanched pork ribs, along with the ginger and garlic.
- Lower the heat to a simmer, skimming off any foam or scum that rises to the surface. Let it simmer gently for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Add the Vegetables
- Add the prepared carrots, corn, radish, and onion to the pot.
- Stir well, ensuring all the ingredients are submerged in the broth.
- Continue to simmer for 40-50 minutes, or until the pork ribs are tender and the vegetables are soft.
Step 4: Season the Soup
- Taste the broth and season with salt and white pepper. Adjust as needed.
- Allow the soup to simmer for another 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
