Wonderful Polish Cake Recipe (Makowiec)
Ingredients:

- 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast

- ⅓ cup (70 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup (75 g) unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon salt
For the Poppy Seed Filling:
- 1 cup (140 g) poppy seeds
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
- ⅓ cup (70 g) sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ cup (35 g) raisins (optional)
- ¼ cup (30 g) chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds, optional)
For Glaze (Optional):
- ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or lemon juice
