Instructions:
1. Prepare the Steaks
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to help create a nice crust when cooking.
- Mix all the ingredients for the seasoning blend in a small bowl.
- Rub olive oil or melted butter onto both sides of the steaks, then generously season them with the seasoning blend. Press the spices gently into the meat.
2. Cook the Steaks
- For Grilling:
- Preheat your grill to high heat (450-500°F).
- Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust time for desired doneness:
- Medium-rare: 130-135°F
- Medium: 135-145°F
- Medium-well: 145-155°F
- Remove the steaks from the grill, place a pat of butter on each steak, and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- For Pan-Seared and Oven-Finished Steaks:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot.
- Add a small amount of oil or butter, then sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness and your desired doneness.
- Remove the skillet from the oven, add a pat of butter on each steak, and let them rest for 5 minutes.
3. Serve
- Slice the steaks against the grain if serving family-style or leave them whole for individual plates.
- Pair with classic Texas Roadhouse sides like baked potatoes, seasoned green beans, or warm dinner rolls for the ultimate experience.
