Prep the Ribs:

Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs. This can be done by sliding a butter knife or your fingers under the membrane and then pulling it off. This step is important to ensure tender ribs.
Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Season the Ribs:

Season both sides of the ribs generously with salt and pepper. If you’re using the dry rub, mix all the dry rub ingredients together in a bowl, then rub it evenly over the ribs.

Wrap and Refrigerate:

Wrap the seasoned ribs in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and place them in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or preferably overnight. This step allows the flavors to penetrate the meat.

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). This slow cooking process will help make the ribs tender.

Bake the Ribs:

Place the ribs on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan, bone-side down. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours. The low and slow cooking will make the ribs tender and flavorful.

Add Barbecue Sauce:

After the initial baking time, remove the ribs from the oven. Carefully unwrap the foil, and brush a generous amount of your favorite barbecue sauce on both sides of the ribs.
